FITNESS, by modern standards, is a watery serving of muscle isolation, nutritional misinformation, and fear of legal action. Most gyms are likened to goldfish bowls, crammed with people watching themselves in mirrors, using machines that proudly display “the newest fitness technology” while discouraging the use of simple equipment and movements that have worked effectively for humans and warriors through the ages.
Powell Fitness documents a day-by-day progression towards my goal of elite fitness and superhealth. Currently I’m a Level 1 CrossFit trainer at Potomac CrossFit in Arlington, VA as well as a trainer for Bootcamp Arlington, just outside of DC. Here you’ll find my training log, opinion on weightlifting and nutrition, and anything else that I care to share with the world.
